The fastest way to reach me is email:

schoolfunds@docsanddeadlines.com

I read everything. I reply to most things within a few days, though it can take longer during busy weeks.

What I'd especially like to hear about

Corrections. If a page states an award amount, income tier, application window, approved expense category, or filing deadline that no longer matches the current handbook, tell me — a link to the page or handbook section is enough, and the state and school year help most of all. These programs are amended every legislative session, and the notice that a rule moved almost always reaches a parent before it reaches me. The same goes for a district document list or an assessment requirement that has changed.

Gaps. If you searched for something and found nothing usable — a program I have not written up, a rejection reason that is not covered, a form no one explains, a state that runs a program nobody compares — that is worth a message. Redacted rejection and approval notices are the single most useful thing anyone sends me, because they show what a reviewer actually looked at rather than what the handbook says they should. Remove names, account numbers, and anything identifying before you send; I will not publish an image of a notice, only what it teaches.

Questions. If a guide left you unsure what to do next, say where it stopped being clear. I cannot answer your case, but a question that a guide should have answered and did not is a defect in the guide, and rewriting it helps everyone who searched the same phrase.

What I can't help with

  • Reviewing your reimbursement claim, appeal, application, notice of intent, withdrawal letter, transcript, or enrollment packet, or telling you what to write on any of them
  • Telling you whether you or your child qualify for a program, or whether a specific purchase will be approved — only the program's own reviewer can answer that
  • Legal, tax, or financial advice, including whether a 529 or Coverdell distribution is qualified in your situation
  • Contacting a state agency, program office, school, or district on your behalf, or intervening in a dispute with any of them
  • Recommending a curriculum, tutor, evaluator, private school, microschool, umbrella school, or ESA platform, or judging whether one will satisfy your program
  • Debating whether school choice programs should exist — this site covers procedure, not policy
  • Requests to publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link insertions
