Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 August 2026
By using schoolfunds.docsanddeadlines.com ("this site"), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
What this site is
School Funds is an independent reference on the money and paperwork behind K-12 schooling outside an assigned public school: state education savings account (ESA) and voucher programs, what those funds may be spent on and how reimbursement claims are reviewed, homeschool filings and annual assessments, transcripts and records, and district enrollment and transfer forms.
It is written and published by one person and funded by display advertising. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for any state education agency, department of education, ESA or voucher program, scholarship-granting organization, funds-management or marketplace platform, curriculum vendor, private school, microschool, umbrella or cover school, testing service, or homeschool advocacy organization. No organization pays to appear here, and naming a program, platform, or vendor is description, not endorsement.
This site also takes no position on school choice policy. It does not argue that these programs should exist or should not, and it does not recommend that you enroll in one, leave one, or withdraw a child from any school. It describes the procedures that apply once you have made that decision yourself.
No professional advice
Content here is general information, not professional advice.
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial, accounting, or educational advice, and reading it creates no attorney-client, advisor-client, or other professional relationship. In particular, this site does not:
- tell you whether a specific expense will be approved, or advise you on how to word a reimbursement claim, appeal, or resubmission;
- tell you whether you or your child qualify for any program, or complete, review, or file any application, notice of intent, withdrawal letter, or enrollment form on your behalf;
- advise on the tax treatment of a 529, Coverdell, or scholarship award in your situation, or on whether a distribution is qualified;
- interpret your state's compulsory-attendance or homeschool statute as applied to your family, or tell you whether a district's demand for a document is lawful;
- evaluate a private school, microschool, co-op, umbrella school, curriculum, tutor, or evaluator, or assess whether any of them will satisfy your program's requirements;
- assess whether a course, transcript, or diploma will be accepted by any college, athletic association, employer, or military branch.
For decisions that turn on your own circumstances, consult a qualified professional in your state, or ask the program office or district in writing and keep the reply.
Accuracy and currency
Guides are researched against official sources and dated on publication. Even so:
- Education savings account, voucher, and tax-credit scholarship programs are created and amended by state legislatures every session. Eligibility tiers, award amounts, approved expense categories, application windows, rollover and clawback rules, and the platform that holds the funds can all change between school years — and program handbooks are frequently reissued mid-year without a summary of what changed. Homeschool filing requirements, assessment options, and district enrollment document lists likewise differ by state and by district and are revised on their own schedules. For that reason every rule here is written with the state and school year it applies to; a rule stated for one state or one year should never be assumed to hold for another.
- A guide reflects the situation at the date shown on it, not necessarily today.
- Errors happen.
